II Afanasy Nikitin International Award 2026

The Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation "NRI Club – Compatriots of India in Russia" is elated to announce the holding of the 2nd Afanasy Nikitin Russian-Indian Award.

The ceremonial event, held to mark India's Independence Day, will take place in Moscow on August 15, 2026.

The Afanasy Nikitin International Award is a public award established by our organisation to recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals from Russia and India to the development of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, scientific, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. Since its inception, the award has been presented to more than 15 recipients whose work has helped to strengthen the partnership between our countries and peoples.

The ANO "NRI Club – Compatriots of India in Russia" is accepting award nominations (submitted in free-form format and including a brief biography and a summary of the nominees' key achievements) via email at d.kurbatov@nriclub.ru until July 31, 2026. A Russian-Indian expert committee, comprising experienced Indologists and practitioners, will be in change of selecting the award recipients from the nominees.

We are highly confident that this annual award will provide deserved recognition for the significant work of Russian and Indian compatriots and present ongoing multilateral cooperation projects between Russia and India to the general public!
